Latitude E6520 Boots to Black Screen After A08 BIOS Update

This question is answered

Re-imaged my laptop yesterday and downloaded all of the updated drivers from the Dell Support site.  I was on A04, so I updated to A05 in order to update to A08.  After doing this, the laptop boots fine, I see the Windows icon while it's loading, but when I would typically see the log in screen, it's now black.  If I suspend the laptop and then resume it, the display then functions as normal.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Just in case anyone else has a similar issue, it turns out that the latest nVidia drivers for my NVS4200M aren't compatible (completely) with the A08 BIOS.  Reverting the driver back to the version on Dell's site did the trick.
