Hello, I've been having a problem with my Inspiron B130. I originally had my onboard "Maximum Graphics Memory" at 128 MB, but I re-installed the graphics driver so that I could add some custom resolutions (which never worked anyway, and I no longer care about). Since then, however, the "Maximum Graphics Memory" has been at 96 MB, and re- installing graphics drivers (even different versions from Dell and Intel) has only managed to allocate 96 MB. What's interesting, is I originally got this PC with 1GB of RAM, but had upgraded to 2GB (and still had 128 MB maximum) prior to when I made the first re-installation of the graphics driver. So, I also tried re-installing the driver with the old RAM, but STILL got only 96 MB allocated to the graphics. I even tried different versions of my BIOS. Now, I know that the graphics memory adjusts based on what the OS tells it, but it will only adjust up to the maximum. This is a HUGE problem, because most of the programs I'm using require computers with 128 MB or more. I've also noticed that programs have been lagging when I'm using over 20 MB of video RAM, when before, this only happened when I used around 50. I have no changable settings in the BIOS. I was wondering if there was ANY way of making the "Maximum Graphics Memory" set to 128 MB again. I know it can't be changed, but maybe there is a specific version of the driver I need (what was the pre-installed OEM version? Would it say in a log on my computer somewhere?), or would it help to re-install the driver when almost all video memory is in use, thus making it allocate more? I REALLY need help with this, as some of the programs are ones I need for college, and I do not have money for a new computer.
