When I turned on my Dell today, the monitor turned black and there was a white line at the bottom. There was also a beep-beep-beep. I tried again before 10 minutes and now it's working properly. Any idea what's wrong?

Beeps can be used as diagnostic indicator. I've checked on your system model 3 beeps indicates motherboard failure.So it could be a failing motherboard, if it was three beeps.Since the system is still working i would suggest you to back up all your important files on the system and than continue to use the system.
So if at all your system stops booting up and if you just hear the beep sounds it means some hardware on the system has stopped working.Number of beeps helps to identify which hardware has gone bad.
