How long does Dell DataSafe take to restore files?

My mom's computer was wiped and I am trying to help her restore her files. I went into her Dell DataSafe account and clicked to restore all her files. It now shows in her log "restore in progress" with a grey checkmark. How long does this process take?  It has been several hours and nothing has been restored.

    The restore time depends on your internet speed and the amount of data that you have backed up. I would suggest you to wait for some more time. If the same issue happens then you may want to close it, restart and then check if it works.

  • HELP - Dell Data Safe Stuck ????????

    This is my first post ever on any forum/blog etc.

    I have a dell XPS laptop with Vista. I believe it became infected with a TDSS type virus crashed and wouldn't boot. I finally resorted to the Dell Datasafe Sysrem Backup. I got to the Dell Datasafe Local  Backup screen where it says "Scanning your computer for new or changed files. Please wait..."

    The green bar moves back and forth and the Hard drive light flashes about two times per second. Its been doing that for two days -how long do I wait. If I do abort this process how do I do it? There are no options on the screen to select. BACK, NEXT, CANCEL are at the bottom of the screen but are non-selectable. 

    What do I do??? I do want to save the data on th Drive.

    Request you to try doing the same procedure a few times by restarting the computer manually. If it still doesn’t work then the virus might have corrupted the Dell Datasafe System Backup image. If you have any important files to be backed up you may contact any local technician to get this done.

    Once this is done you can try restoring the computer to the factory image without backing up the files using Dell Datasafe System Backup.
