Okay, so I have a Dell Expiron M5030, I got it last Easter, so it's a little over a year old.
Last night I was watching a movie on Netflix on my laptop, but it was about to die so I plugged it in right away. But, I plugged it in too late and it died, so I waited a few seconds and then pressed the power button. When it turned on, the screen was black and after a few moments it started beeping. I turned it back off and took out the battery, waited a few seconds, put it back in and then tried turning it back on again. Same thing happened.
I have all my school work, and important documents on my computer, so I need to know what I need to do to get it fixed ASAP, and if it will erase my work.
Welcome to the Community,
Beeps can be used as Diagnostic indicators. On your system model 7 beeps indicates processor failure. To fix it you might end up getting the processor or the whole motherboard replaced.Since the data is stored in the Harddrive this problem should not affect your data.
