Dell D430 laptop SATA or IDE?

This question is not answered

I have a Latitude D430 with a manufacture date of 4/11/08. I found out after purchasing it that it does not have a normal 2.5" HDD, but rather a 1.8" 4200RPM drive. But, can someone tell me if this is SATA or IDE? Also, can I purchase a 160GB 5400RPM drive off ebay and use it in this system? If so, how hard would it be to change the hard drive?

TIA,

Larry

  • They are 1.8" ZIF EIDE dirves.  Be VERY careful - there are multiple types of connector on these drives, and ONLY the ZIF connector type will work.  The SATA drive will not work.

The hard drive is accessed this way:
