Please, I kindly need an assistance with my "baby"...My laptop won't startup and Windows cannot repair the error automatically. I have chosen advance system recovery options but still I am not getting a positive response. I used the system restore but it doesn't work too.
I don't want to use the Dell factory restore because I have no backup files and I don't want to loose really valuable files on it. Please, what assistance can I get from you guys?
Step 1: Purchase an external drive case, remove the hard drive, mount it in the case and attach it to a working system. Back up what you can read.
Then return the drive to the system once you have a backup. DO NOT proceed without one.
Then power on, press F12, load the Dell diagnostics and run the EXTENDED - NOT just the quick - hard drive test.
The drive will likely fail - in which case, replace it with a new 2.5" 9.5 mm SATA notebook drive, and reload Windows. If you don't have a Windows disc, you can order one:
