Dell 630m hard drive upgrade

This question is not answered

Hey, guys, I want to replace the original hard drive of my 630M, but I'm not sure what kind of hard drive it support, like what interface it support: IDE, UATA, ATA-100, etc..., and what speed it can support: 5400rpm or 7200rpm?  Any idea? Thank you for any information...

  • No idea?Sad

  • It might be too late now, but what interface is the hard drive in it just now?  It'll be mentioned in the specifications - and on your invoice, whether it's IDE (/PATA) or SATA.

It'll accept any speed drive - i.e. 5400rpm or a more expensive 7200rpm.  The important thing is to make sure you buy the right kind.

If it's SATA, you can order a SATA II drive - since SATA II is backwards compatible.

From experience, I've found that:   “Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder”!!
