Inspiron 1720: Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller

  • Hiya guys,

I just purchased an Inspiron 1720 and have had it for just two days. I haven't had the chance to install any software so I'm baffled by the following error message that I started getting today each and every time I boot my computer.

ll Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller stopped working and was closed. Windows will notify you if a solution is available.

Can someone tell me what may be causing this and how I can solve the problem?

    Here are my computer specs:

    1720, T7500(2.2GGHZ) CORE 2 DUO

    INTEL DUAL CORE 2,MEROM,NBK

    2GB,DDR2,667MHZ,2 DIMM,I1720

    INT SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY

    128MB NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 8400

  • what do you see in device manager under network adapters?
  • I have the following listed under network adapters:

    Broadcom 440x10/100 Integrated Controller
    Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card

  • ok, any exclaimation marks or error messages in device manager?

in spite of the message, is your wireless connection working correctly?
  • Nope, no exclamation marks or error messages are present. And, my network connection seems to be working fine. We are running a D-Link G wireless network in our home and my computer is showing an excellent connection (all 5 bars are green).

I just booted my computer 15 mins ago and the 'Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller' error message didn't appear this time.
  • let's hope it doesn't ever reappear...
