The keyboard of the Inspiron 15R is not working!

Hi everyone,

I got this problem suddenly after I installed a plugin for online shopping from a bank and the whole keyboard is not working.Then I delete that plugin and   restarted the laptop several times, but it doesnt work.

I can enter the password but I need to be quick since it wont work after like 10 seconds. And I can only type one character and then it is not working.

I can get in the BIOS page and there the keyboard is working well. So I am worderning the hardware is not broken. Are there any button for lock the keyboard or does anyone know how to solve it?

  • Thanks Kiran, I got a CD from DELL for Windows 7 OS and can I use it to restore the system? And how can I make a copy of the program or settings in my laptop? Cuz I really have some important program in my laptop. Thank you.

  • More details about the problem, I can use the Fn button when the other buttons dont work and It seems the keyboard is locked. Does anyone know the Inspiron 15R's keyboard lock button?

    Now I am using a USB keyboard for typing. So I believe that the hardware is fine.

    Apologies for my previous response. Request you to refer the below link to perform system restore:

    You will find a few restore points for instance if you select a restore point as 07/20/2013 then all the applications installed after that will be lost. You will have to reinstall these applications again.

    Note: Please backup data before attempting this.
