my brother just now bought a xps15 L502x laptop from US, i am now in India. when i opened it for the very first time, an error message appeared that
' the AC adapter type cannot be determined
your system will operate slower and battery will not charge'
and when i place the cursor on the battery icon in the notification area there is a message that 'plugged in, not charging'.
what i have to do now to charge my battery?
i only use the adapter given by Dell.
my bios version is A10.
i have downloaded and installed all the drivers that was specified for my service tag.
please someone help me to get rid of it.
Check the BIOS setup - F2 at powerup. If the AC adapter is listed as "unknown", try another Dell adapter - if that doesn't solve the problem, the mainboard needs repair or replacement.
You should make sure the system was purchased with an extended warranty, and that you then transfer the warranty to your current location, as it is likely you will need a warranty repair.

Check the status of Ac adapter type in bios.
Kindly check if the computer works on battery.
Check with a known good adapter.
