I have a Studio 1737 laptop and the Fn key is not working and the screen brightness has been to set to the lowest setting. I would like to now if Dell has an application i could use to increase the screen brightness or reset it to its default setting. Or is there any method i could use to increase the screen brightness?
Just thinking out of the box, does your bios settings include a screen brightness profile as you can tweak your screen brightness from in there.
F4 = dim
F5 = bright
Same on my Dell XPS L501x(Windows 7 64-bit) and my wife's Dell Mini 1011(XP)
What is a Dell Service Tag and how do I locate it?

the bios on the studio is akin to a PC bios, i.e, its a regular AMI bios without any option for screen brightness, my other laptops does have that option though.
i will try the F4 F5 and tell you what happens
My old Inspiron B130 uses Fn and the arrows up/down
Maybe consider replacing the keyboard?
