I need to replace my hard drive on my Dell XPS M1530.I have read this post: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/disk-drives/f/3534/t/19325147.aspx
I have tried to find what kind of moderboard I have. Cant find any info about that. I have logged in to dell which seems to show everything but the name of the moderboard, and I have used Aida32 which says its called "Dell Inc M1530".Do I need that in order to know the maximum size for a new hd?
The post above is 2 years newer than my xps (bought july 2008), so maybe it has another moderboard. So, does this apply to me as well: Max 9.5mm high, and 500 GB for the 7200 rpm?
It has to be 2.5" and 9.5 mm or slimmer. There are now 1T drives in that format (Samsung, WD) that will work - but if you want 7200 rpm, 500G is as big as you can get.
Ok, got it
