I have a Dell Studio 1558 64 bit, windows 7 laptop. I have read many of the posts in the forums about trying to fix the stereo mix option but I haven't found anything helpful for windows 7. I have the idt high definition sound card and i am hoping that someone knows anything about if i can get the stereo mixer option.
The fixes we have discussed here were for Dell laptop models that have Sigmatel HD audio. There were no fixes for IDT HD in XP or Vista so I don't expect to see a fix in 7 which is built upon Vista. A fix would be for someone who really knows what they are doing to re-write the IDT driver to allow stereo mix. Until that happens the workarounds are to connect a cable from the output jack to the input jack, try some software that is supposed to record streaming audio, or get an external sound card.
