Samsung CD-Rom SC-148A problem

  • Hi, until a few days ago, my burner has been working fine. Then one day it stopped reading blank disks. Whenever I insert one it says "plese insert a disk into drive D:"
as if there is nothing in it. Audio cds, applications, and already burned disks work fine. I have no idea what to do. Can someone please help?

    Thanks in advance,
    John

  • CD-ROM drives cannot read blank discs. Do you have a burner drive?
  • i made a mistake in my post.. disregard the whole thing, i figured it out
    thanks anyway
  • Ok, glad things worked out.
  • Hi,

I have same problems with Samsung SC-148A in conjunction with DVD Burner - it asks me to place a disk in Drive D: when there is already a perfectly good disk in Drive D (I've tried both audio & data) disks.

On google there seem to be driver issues with this CD-ROM - can anyone advise, JOhn can you advise how you solved your problem?

    Thanks,

    Jeff
