I have a dell studio xps 7100 and i cannot connect to the internet, it doesnt show my network adapter in divice manager and it shows a yellow ! by my "ethernet controller" can somebody please help me with this issue, thanks.
Sorry for my terrible spelling, just woke up :D
still having problems =\
What is the error code that is showing in the Device Manager? for example Code 10, Code 39, etc
If you just did a reinstall, the motherboard chipset drivers often skipped and are key to a successful reinstall. The correct reinstall is (1) Install Windows (2) Install Dell Desktop system software on applicable models (3) Install motherboard chipset drivers (4) Install Device Drivers including Video, Ethernet, Dell sound driver, etc.

i do not have my cds for this? do i need the cds or can i get them off the internet from my laptop, use a flashdrive and then send it to my desktop?
When did it start doing this? Has the network adapter ever worked?
My computer just started doing that as well...no internet connection and when I troubleshoot, I get the same reply on the ethernet controller- no driver found. The computer worked fine, with internet connection up until this happened. Did not load any software or do anything to it. Was working on it in the morning on the internet, then went back to it in the afternoon and ...nothing, no Internet. Any help would be appreciated. I too do not have any disk for Windows 7 (loaded at the factory) but have a Dell Driver disk that came with the computer. In looking through that, I could not find any reference to a "ethernet controller driver" Thanks in advance.
