Having a problem with my new PC T5500. The PC hangs suddenly and when I reboot I got the message "Memory failure detected in dimm 1" but I am still able to log in to Windows. The problem occurs frequently with the same message obtained after reboot.
Would appreciate any assistance to this problem.
Run the Dell diagnostics on your RAM modules and see if the same error occurs. If it does, contact Dell about a replacement.

The same thing happened. I ran the Dell diagnostics on the memory (took more than half an hour) and no error was found, but after a while the system hung again.
The test for your RAM should not take a half hour. Are you sure you were running the RAM test, or were you testing the hard drive?
