Dell Optiplex 960 BIOS A12

This question has suggested answer(s)

Hi community,

I was wondering what happend to the Optiplex 960 BIOS A12. At the moment I can just download A11. But my own Optiplex 960 has the BIOS revision A12.

Is A12 a bad version? Anything I have to worry about?

Regards

Marcus

  • Haven't had any official responses from my Dell contacts, yet...

A11 is the latest BIOS version listed on Dell's ftp site and that's the same version listed on their Drivers/Download page for the 960.

Are you sure you have A12 installed on an Optiplex 960? Did you do any BIOS updates after you got the system?

Is it possible for you to post a photo of the boot screen showing the BIOS version installed?

  • I didn't get a response from my Dell contacts. I'll remind them...

One question comes to mind is if there's a different version (or numbering) available for systems sold in Germany. The site  I looked at is Dell's USA site. Did you click the flag in the upper lefthand corner of the support page to select the German site? You may see something different.  (I just tried to access the German site, but it crashed so that's something else I have to bug Dell about!)

I do not work for Dell. I too am a user.
The forum is primarily user to user, with Dell employees moderating.

  • The us ftp site listed them as well. I found out that these a the DBE versions of the corresponding BIOS (E11 -> A11) is.
