Check the reading of the power button LED, is it Steady Blue, Blinking Blue, Steady Amber, Blinking Amber?

2 'Beeps' indicate a memory issue, try opening the case and remove and reinstall all the memory modules, restart the system and see if this makes a difference.

  • Thanks Bev - reinstalling the memory modules appears to have done the trick.  The LED was steady blue: should I be concerned that there is another problem?

That's excellent, happy to hear the issue is resolved.

There's nothing to worry about a solid blue LED, that's normal.

  • Phew!  Thanks Bev!  Moving house is not good for desktop computers!

    You welcome.

When moving a computer to different houses, I always pack them in bubble wrap, inside a box.
