XPS 420 PSU upgrade

This question is not answered

Hi all,

I wanted to upgrade my XPS 420 375 PSU, I believe it is an ATX type.  Anyhow I was looking at a:

OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

and has these connectors:

20/24-pin ATX
8-pin cpu
4-pin cpu
Modular:
6-pin PCI-e
6+2-pin PCI-e
6 SATA
5 Molex
1 Floppy

My question is, Will this unit fit my XPS 420 case??  It seems to measure the same.

And will the 20.24-pin ATX fit on the mobo, I sure that it does but will the wires on the PSU be the same as the mobo??

I've heard that Dell(in the past??) has change some of their wireing routing form "standard ATX PSU's"

Mine looks like a standard ATX PSU, But just thought I'd ask.

Thanks for any replies/info

Ron

The OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply, as shown HERE will be fine for the XPS 420.
