I have a 2003 Dell Dimension 4600, which up until now had no use for, but then I discovered that you can boot Windows 7 via a SATA drive. Now is the SATA controller automatically enabled, or do I have to go into the BIOS and enable it, or does Windows 7 automatically enable the controller.
This computer probably will go onto my aunts place, unless I decide to run it as a Server, lol.

You would need to enable the SATA drive in the BIOS and install the Promise SATA Controller driver, that you may have to download from Promise, as Dell seem's not to have it available for 4600, on their Download Site.
