My Dell Inspiron is stuck in sleep mode

This question is not answered

How can I get my computer off of sleep mode. The light stays on yellow and it seems like there is no power to it all at. This error reads on the screen: 1. analog report sleep mode

  • Always a good idea to include the exact model number of the PC and version of Windows in your posts. Wink

Have you tried manually powering it off (press/hold power button) and then rebooting?

  • Sorry, it's a Dell Inspiron 530, Windows XP home edition

  • Yes I have tried manually shutting down, I even took the cover off and unplugged and replugged things in.

Try pushing the 'Windows' key on the keyboard.

  • If Bev's suggestion doesn't work, power off and unplug the PC from the wall. Press/hold the power button for ~15 sec. Open the case and remove the battery from the motherboard. Press/hold the power button again for ~30 sec. Reinstall the battery (right-side-up) and see if it will boot with only mouse, monitor and keyboard attached.
