Is anyone could confirm me which version of the Intel i7-4770 is shipped with the XPS 8700???
Intel produce 5 flavors http://ark.intel.com/compare/75123,75124,75125,75610,76642 of this CPU. But it is likely that the i7-4770K or i7-4770S will be found inside the new XPS 8700.
DELL support won't confirm me this info. ;-((
I need the i7-4770S flavor, for its Virtualization Technology features, as I intend to use it as an Hyper-V Server.
Can someone, which has bought an XPS 8700, can dig a bit and confirm me this info?

I cannot find any VT data on the training page? Perhaps a current 8700 owner can boot into the Bios System Setup, go to Advanced- Processor Configuration and see if there is any reference to VT.

Actually, comparing all the i7-4770 CPUs at the Intel site I get this table, which shows the (3PV04) i7-4770 mentioned by Chris above having all the virtualization features available to the processor family (highlighting mine):
Based on that table, I'm not sure you need the *S model at all. The plain i7-4770 seems to have everything you could ask for. In fact, the S' only difference seems to be a lower TDP due to a lower clock speed. This would explain why it's used in the XPS 27 as you linked to. Since Dell's site specifies the letter variant for the XPS 27's CPU, the lack thereof for the XPS 8700 means that the CPU it ships with is the plain 4770, which as I showed above has everything you need.

I DON'T have an XPS 8700 at this point. I am interested to buy one, but only if I am sure that they ship with an i7-4770S.

In the i7-3770 series, there is on i7-3770 model which has very much the same features as the i7-3770S flavor. However, as in th case of the i7-4770 series, the 'K' model has left features the the 'S' model.
You're right about your i7-3770 Virtualization features. It has the same ones as the 'S' model. Unfortunately, I have to decide between the 'S' and 'K' model in the i7-4770 series, and not the i7-3770 series.
Thanks again for posting your specs. I had once an XPS, a few year ago, and I was quite impressed with its performances. I just want to make the right decisions before enjoying my next one.
It's sad that DELL won't go into giving more info about the CPU shipped within the XPS 8700 machine, as they do for the XPS 27 All-In-One.

Well, you're right. The straight i7-4770 share the same virtuaization features of fhe 'S' model. Especially, the "Directed I/O (VT-d)", which is missing in the 'K' model.
I may take a chance, and order a XPS 8700, and be praying it won't ship with the 'K' model.

It won't. As I said previously, Dell's Tech Specs pages specify the CPU as Intel does, using the exact same words. Therefore, if the Tech Specs page says the XPS 8700 ships with an i7-4770 CPU, then that's what you'll get. Period :)

I got XPS 8700 recently and it does not support Intel Virtualization Technology.
Looks like the BIOS does not support VT-x. CPU supports it.
My XPS 8700 has model: Dell 0KWVT8, chipset Intel Z87 (Lynx point).
Hyper-V works fine for me.
I have posted the BIOS info earlier.
The computer is shipped with Windows 8. You need Windows 8 Pro to run Hyper-V.
