I have a inspiron 545s system.I am upgrading to windows 8 it is throwing a error which says
I called up the support center and tried upgrading to the new version A05 version released on 9/12/2012 but it crashes not able to upgrade help would be appreciated.
I got the same message when I upgraded my XPS 8500, even though it's only 4 months old.
I wouldn't worry about it - just continue the installation. You don't really need secure-boot, it's a new boot-time security feature that they've introduced, but it needs compatible firmware.
magsbang,The Inspiron 545s is not on the approved Windows 8 list. We can only provide drivers and bios support for Windows 7, Vista, and XP.

If you are going to upgrade then Do Bios BEFORE upgrade.
