My question is whether or not the Amd Radeon HD 7570 GPU is powered by an external power cord in the $899 version of the XPS 8500. So I guess this question is for those who have this model and have maybe noticed this inside.

AMD Radeon HD7570 has no external power cord/source. It gets power from the slot on the motherboard. In this card I think it supports PCIex16 Slot. Please refer to this link for more information ; Manual and Owner's Guide http://dell.to/KB2y0o

I checked the manual, but it said that a supplemental power cord may or may not apply, depending on the model. However, thanks for answering my question.
You are welcome. If you are planning to buy the XPS 8500, its better to speak with Sales Representative, so you can check the actual specifications. Possible that external power source will be optional to some 8500 series.
