hi, i have been struggling with my desktop Dell Dimension 4600. The Kernel wave audio mixer device was not working, so i uninstalled it. I don't know what to download and how to reinstall the kernel wave audio mixer. What do i have to do, and how do get my sound to work again. THANK YOU for replying
Welcome to the forums
Which ones you need to download, depends on whether you're using a dedicated Creative soundcard, or have an integrated/on-board audio chip?
But you can download the appropriate audio drivers off the Dimension 4600 'Drivers & Downloads' page
A word of warning though: When you first click on a drivers download link, a new window will open, asking which method/option you want to use for the download?DON'T select the Dell Download Manager option!!!! It's known to cause all sorts of problems!Choose the 'browser' download option instead.
From experience, I've found that: “Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder”!!
