Thanks for all the suggestions! I ended up buying from imicros on ebay...it was a little over $100 & it was an Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T5750. which actually is the actual upgraded CPU offered by Dell when you build your own laptop. I figured it would be safest just to go with that.

Haha, i'm still a wee bit confused, sorry =/ So my laptop can take a 478 OR a 479 processor? Because I saw on another thread that the Inspirons take a P socket processor...? That kind of threw me off a bit.

Okay i've beek looking for Core 2 Duo processors to replace my Pentium Dual Core and it says that the socket for the Core 2 Duo is 478...is that incompatible with the Inspiron 1525?
