    An ATI 4650 should suffice and you will not need a new power supply. I am using a 4650 in my 540S.

    It's possible to boot off of USB flash drives. However, not all of them are compatible with the BIOS flashing utilities. For example, I was unable to flash my 220S with the first flash stick I used, but fortunately I had another, older one and that worked.
