It all depends on which version of Vista you currently have, and which version of Windows 7 you are moving to. Some combinations require a clean install while other combinations allow you to do an in-place upgrade (see this article ).

Wouldn't it be just as simple to edit your OWN profile and disable any email activity? You are the only one who can do that.
