What happens when you plug it into an external monitor. FN F8 toggles between the LCD and the monitor.

Remove cd/dvdrom drive, hard drive, expresscard, and battery. Reseat the memory. Hold down the power button for 20 seconds. Plug in the a/c adapter and power it up and see if your computer will POST with just memory if not. Try one memory stick at a time in one slot at a time. If you can not get it to post then you probably need a motherboard replacement. If you get it to POST then put back in devices one at a time.

Only use the a/c adapter that is designed for your computer.

Once you load your operating system then you should load Notebook System Software first. Second load Intel Chipset driver then your broadcom nic driver here .

Did you try FN F2 to see if the card is enabled. If you hit F2 to enter setup when you see the Dell logo at boot is the card recognized in the BIOS.

I do not believe it will work. You will have to replace the internal dvdrom drive.
