Thanks much. Just tried that method, but no joy. Extracted XP drivers to hard drive, tried updating from the Device Manager, pointed to the XP audio driver (extracted) folder, "Windows cannot find any driver software for your device". Boy this is frustrating.. Thanks for the tip though. I'll keep searching around ..

All: I am looking for a ADI 198x Integrated Audio Driver for Vista. I recently upgraded to VISTA on my Dell Dimension 8250. I have no sound still. I've gotten past most of the upgrade issues, except for the audio driver. VISTA continues to tell me that there is "no Audio Output Device installed". In the Device Manager, the "Multimedia Audio Controller" is listed under "Other Devices" without any driver at all. I've tried several drivers I found around these forums, but
