  • Building Business Overseas – Small Business Advice TV

Last week saw encouraging news for UK businesses that are looking to expand into new markets over the next 12 months. With the pound at its lowest level ever , highly attractive opportunities are opening up for companies who want to develop their business overseas. On Thursday, I was in London at the www.smallbusinessadvice.tv studio for our sixth show in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce and Intel. Joining us in the studio to analyse exporting opportunities, was Ian Campbell OBE,

  • Small Business Tech Tip: Sending Large Files for Free

When I want to send or receive large files the limitations placed on email file size in the past proved tricky. Either the email would hang in my mailbox or the recipient would never receive it and I’d end up sending the files physically. These days rather than burning the files to CD and posting them I use some free tools available on the web. I attended the inaugural VMworld Europe in Cannes, France, where Dell was a platinum sponsor discussing the future of virtualization . It was held in the same conference centre as the Cannes Film Festival . I attended the opening keynote and then joined the Dell team on the exhibition floor to see what they were sharing with customers on the Dell booth and in the breakout sessions. Note from Lionel 2/28: This was originally published at 10am in the category area. Due to a publishing oversight, did

  • From Paris to London – Simplifying Disaster Recovery Demo

Following on from my post and visit to VMworld Europe , I wanted to share a vlog of the disaster recovery demo that Will Urban, Product Marketing Consultant, and the Dell EqualLogic team were conducting on the Dell stand at this virtualization event. For demonstration purposes the two Dell stands on the exhibition floor represented London and Paris offices and the demo goes through the simple a step-by-step process of testing your disaster recovery strategy before you need it. I particularly like
