Why is this a computer problem??? It's just plastic. Use a plastic polish on it. Try a Google search. Try a plastics forum.

Check my post in this forum : http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19247444/19428141.aspx#19428141 "I have received confirmation from a Bios/Motherboard guru that the 730x motherboard does indeed appear to be made by MSI , uniquely for Dell. Knowing this won't be of much help except to assuage our own curiosity. The first thing I noticed was that several of the discrete component groupings seamed to be similar with other MSI boards and the give-away was the big number on the board, MS-7543
I doubled checked your link, and those are 2660 processors; not the i7.
You need to triple check your "double check", those are the i7 processors. The 2660 is the i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz clock.

It looks like Vista will soon have a new update to SP2 . Hopefully this might make some improvement to the problems with the 730x . This is only a "release candidate" and you can get it now, but I think you should only do so if you " know what you are doing ". Here's a good article and a link to get it at: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/vista_sp2_rc_what_you_must_know I would post this in one other forum, but you know, that might fall under the "new definition"

  • Re: Lack of help

I think you need to read the original post again. " bilwilkins " made no mention of wanting help for free. I'm afraid I would have to agree with bilwilkins, Dell just doesn't care about it's customers after they get your money.
