I have an alert in my Dell Support Center saying that Dell recommends that I keep my system up-to-date with the latest Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 update for my PC. Is it a must that I upgrade to this?

I've noticed that my battery meter/AC power icon has disappeared from my system tray. I'm not sure how to make it reappear. I'm not even sure how it suddenly disappeared in the first place. The reason why I want this icon to always be there is so that I can tell how much battery power I have left on my laptop. Also, when I am charging my laptop battery and letting my laptop run on AC power, the battery icon turns into the AC power icon. How do I get it to reappear? Is the icon part of

Thereal-dbk4297 --The battery icon doesn't appear at all, and when the power adapter is connected, the AC icon doesn't appear either. I checked the Quickset program settings, and there's no option at all to make the icons disappear.

I'm using XP also. I've also noticed that my volume control icon has disappeared also.
