So I picked up some Patriot RAM. 6GB DDR3 1600MhZ. Latency should be 9-9-9-24 @ 1.65V My system identifies it as 7-7-7-20 and will only let me run it at that. Unfortunatly, as I increase my bclk and the ram starts to approach 1600mhz, it becomes unstable in windows. I assume that this is because of the tighter timings. If I use the BIOS to manually change the timings, the system won't boot and i get 4 short beeps before restarting. I can only believe that the second set of timings (I don't

I am looking at upgrading my current xps motherboard. It is less than a month old but the inability to OC the i7 920 processor is frusterating. Is there a reliable place to sell one of these units? Is it possible to replace the BIOS instead? Anyone out there looking to upgrade a 730 to a 730x? The RAM would be upgraded aswell! Any advice would be appreciated.

Find a mobo yet? I have one from a 730x with 3GB DDR3 RAM I'm looking to offload. You may need a new processor though as I believe these are built for the i7 processor. Would make for a nice upgrade though!

I probably jumped the gun a little on the original post. Since then I've done a little research and am now running my 920 at over 3.5ghz and should, with any luck, make up up past 3.8. Only thing I may need to upgrade is the ram as I'm not sure that the stock stuff can handle the mhz as it's a direct result of the multiplier or the ratio selected. I'll probably be at 1200 mhz before I get to 3.8 and therefore the ram may be the reason for instability (if there is any that is!). GPUs

Here's how the story begins... My xps700 reboots withing 30 seconds of logging in (after I key my PW in Vista) 9/10 times and when I do get in, it's brutally slow and video is choppy. I call XPS tech support. I am connected with the Phillipines. This is where the fun begins. I can barley understand the person on the other end. Not only is the tegalog accent pretty thick but the mic or phone the agent is using is terrible. I try and explain my problem but she keeps telling me to go to dellconnect

The HDD on my new xps 700 spins up and down continually even if i'm not home for the day I return to find it still spinning. I've turned off all auto defrag and virus scanners and Can't seem to figure it out. Adam
