I'm looking to upgrade my psu as well. I've recently installed a Radeon HD4870 (1GB) and I'm a little concerned about possible stability issues this might cause. Would someone mind recommending a high performance replacement, preferrably one that's relatively quiet?

None taken. I'm just thinking that perhaps some are returning their monitors because it looks horrible at 1024x768.

Thanks for responding, and confirming my suspicions. It just had me wondering why some posters were openly claiming the monitor as defective, but wouldn't specify their desktop resolution. The "blurry" effect I'm experiencing is somewhat of a haze. It appears as a light shadow around text when displayed on a white background for example. Everything seems a little out of focus. But the native resolution looks fantastic.

Hello all, After a few years of deliberation, I've finally decided to replace my 21" Hitachi CRT and give an LCD monitor a try. At the "optimal resolution" (1600x1200) and with a DVI connection to my BFG 6800oc, I find the picture clarity and text sharpness to be very impressive. However, adjusting the resolution to anything lower results in a drastic change in clarity, with no relief from tweaking the monitor's sharpness control and XP cleartype.
