Davet50, I set the WZC to manage the adapter and then rebooted. The adapter came up with a red x, and then connected after about 20 seconds. Interesting that this works in this manner and that the Linksys stopped working as it should. I still think I have a setting somewhere that is off but for now this seems like it will work. I will have to reboot several more time to be sure. Thanks for all your suggestions. Annie

Hi Rick, I understand. Thanks for what you did to help. I know this is something simple that I am missing. Take care. Annie Davet50, I do have a Network Adapter Icon near the clock. When I rt. click on it there is a listing of " USE WINDOWS XP WIRELESS CONFIGURATION". When I click on "Use Windows XP Wireless Configuration" a new window opens up that says: "Your adapter is currently using the Linksys Network Monitor. Do you want to switch to the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration
