First off, congrats on the new youngin'! Kids help keep things in perspective--other stuff seems small in comparison

Second, speaking of the small stuff, I have a E6500 with a DoD CAC card non reading issue and the word on the street is that you have the answer. True? Can you help a brother out?

Hi Bill,

I have had my 1525 Inspiron for about 7 months. Periodically, the touchpad will not respond and moves sparodically. I cant quite figure out why this is happening and becomes very frustrating when you move my finger over the touchpad and the pointer does not move or moves very sparodically. Seems to be similar to the problems that I am reading here. Perhaps an issue with the AC Adapter?

Can you help me?

please let me know if I have done well to make an upload from dell site of a driver system for my new laptop studio 1737 because I have noticed has changed the ide controller / ata / atapi as follows:

Before:

ATA CHANNEL 1

ATA CHANNEL 2

ATA CHANNEL 3

ATA CHANNEL 4

After installation of driver R 214474 vers. 6.2.1, A02

CHANNEL IDE

I would like to know if the driver is the last one, if it's ok for my notebook or if it's better to return the last one...

Sorry for late reply. Actually Unisys has replaced most of the parts and for time being problem was resloved. but now new problem has come up and that is the slot cd drive. whenever i load a CD in the drive. It automatically ejects. This problem has come up after the engineer from unisys has recitfy the previous problem of keyboard and LCD bazel. COuld u please help me in replaceing the whole laptop because now such problem will rise some or other day.

I just need a ethernet diver. I bought my Inspiron 600m from a pawn shop and had to get it a new hard drive for it. Apon installing windows XP i found out it had been missing that drive. "Windows Update" doesent replace it. Dell.com gives me some Zip file. I need help.
