Many of my Tweeps (Twitter friends for those of you not living in Twitterville with us) are talking about cool Web 2.0 tools that they are using in their classrooms. A few examples include:
Those are a very small sampling of what I am reading about.
I (and the rest of our community) would love to hear what tools you are using and why.
There seem to be new, free resources popping up online everyday. Which ones can you not live without? Which ones were not all they were cracked up to be?
Tell us why
I use Twitter, Google Apps, Google Reader, FriendFeed, Meebo and many, many more but these are the ones that I use the most. I also utilize feed.informer to aggregate feeds into streams on the vairous websites and blogs I maintain.
I could list alot of the ones that our great instructional staff has introduced to our teachers, but just sending you to the page where they are listed would be easier. Suzan and Jeff have a page setup just for web 2.0 tools. Thier teachers can really pick and choose a solution from the list and put it to work.
Take a look, ALOT of great ideas here.

@bryanphillips
I checked out that site last night - wow! I spent 2 hours just checking out what was out there and finding new and interesting people to follow on Twitter!
Thank you so much for sharing. May I Tweet this or is it not for public sharing?
NO you are welcomed to share it. I checked with @suzanbrandt and @jrichardson30, they are both good with it. Any time we post anything you are welcomed to share it with anyone.

As a way to simplify my personal and professional life I have started using many Web 2.0 tools. I have learned the value of a Professional Learning Network using Twitter, and this has been very helpful to me in my daily duties. Google Docs, Reader and Notebook are all part of my daily routine. Using Delicious and Diigo have allowed me to keep helpful information on the web and always available. Drop.IO is a new site that I have used with both family and for school business.
Ning is starting to be used in our upper grades by teachers who want secure areas to setup projects for their classes. Many students are using Google Docs at home to prepare information for school. Our district is schedule to transition to Live.Edu in October, so we are hesitant to commit to other Web 2.0 until this transition is complete and faculty/staff & students have been trained.
