  • Dimensions 9100 PC is Overheating, and will not stay powed up.

I purchased my Dimension 9100 PC back in July-2005 (which is now out of warranty). I have never had a problem with my PC until last weekend; I always power off my PC after every use and have never left it powered on for more than two hours at a time, until last weekend; I forgot to power it down and...

  • Dell Dimension 8200 Died and Will Not Restart

While I was out of town, my wife said that our Dell Dimension 8200 started squealing, and the screen froze. She could not turn it off, even by using the power button, so she pulled the plug. After replugging it into the power source, the computer does not come on. There are no lights, other than a green...

  • Re: Battery meter/AC power icon disappeared

Hi, Ham3799... I'm afraid there's good news and bad news about that fix. It really does work... ...but only until I shut down or reboot. Every time the computer starts, I have to repeat that entire scenario, as well as the similar routine for putting the volume control icon back in place there...

  • My Dimension 3000 will not power up

When I press the power button on my computer the LED just blinks amber. I have done everything short of opening the case (BTW, does anyone know how to do this. There are no screws or latches) and unplugging wires. Has anyone else had this problem? What does it mean? Anyone know how to solve this problem...

I have a Inspiron 2200 laptop. I recently bought this new battery for it: http://www.level8technology.com/servlet/the-2549/dell-inspiron-2200-battery/Detail To my understanding batteries initially have to be charged and discharged a few times to achieve a full charge. But I have done this and I have...

  • Re: Bluetooth Problem

PCgeek1, I have this irritating problem, too. Can't count the hours that I've spent looking for a solution. I'm a pretty savvy computer user, but this one's got me stumped. I paid good money for my XPS m1530, which I received last February. It has had this issue since day one -- when...

  • Adding accesories to your laptop

Greetings All, I am interested in adding some accessories to my laptop. I have an Inspiron 1720 that I like a lot. I want to upgrade the CD/DVD drive to a blue ray drive. In talking to a tech online, he said the change is quite easy, with the use of only one screw. I checked the back and can see what...
