Hi There, I need some help with my laptop. When it's plugged in,
the temp goes up from 50 to 60 within 2 mins, then the fan kicks in.
The temp lowers to 50, and the fan stops. But within another 2 mins,
the temp is back up to 60. So basically the fan is always on. However,
when I'm just running...

Hello all, I've received my pretty new Studio laptop today and I was pretty enthusiastic about it (because , is it pretty) until I sat down to install it. The backlight is very bright (I've heard that this is the way it's supposed to be) but since I am prone to migraines, only 30 minutes...

Since making your fan spin more or less is not what you need, we are talking about the OS feature to shut down the pc when critical temp is reached. Just to better explain, think what will happen if...

Hi Mr_Dimsum, all I have to offer are ideas, but since I logged on to the Dell Community today to get help with a similar problem I thought I'd share my experience. Some processeors will combat overheating by reducing their speed (as you pointed out). One way to check it is by downloading a program...

I got exactly the same problem here The computer don't work after some time viewing Video and its even worst with DVd playback (cant watch more than 20 minutes) The problem seems to be an overheating from the Graphical chipset (ie Intel for me not NVIDIA) The processor doesn't overheat (45-50°c...

I’ve had my laptop now for about a month. Apart from the 17” screen, as a gamer I reckon its greatest asset is the twin NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX graphics cards run in SLI mode with a gig of memory between them. But I am amazed at how much heat these, along with the processor, are pumping...

Is anyone having trouble with their laptop power supply overheating? I've had this for about 2 years and recently it has been getting super hot, almost too hot to touch. I haven't ever noticed this happening before, so I believe this has just started overheating. I have other Dell laptops with...
