  • Inspiron E1705 has black screen after closing the screen and reopening

    If I close the screen on my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop and then reopen it later and not much later. I can't get the screen to come alive again it just stays black. I have changed the power options to always on and still the same thing. I have no clue?

  • E-1705 Monitor/display problems

    I've got an E-1705 that's only a couple of years old. A couple of weeks ago the monitor just went black. The laptop does boot and sometimes i can see portions of the screen very faintly. Has anyone experienced this problem. I don't want to purchase a new laptop. Never had a problem like this...

    I am having the same issue. I got a replacement I honestly thought it was somethign else so I waited a while. But indeed it is the monitor, they sent me a replacement of course the same model and it having even more issues than my last. Also, I can say that it does only happen when my brother plays games...

    Why should we have to pay another $400.00 or so and do a self replace for something that we paid more money for than the average laptop and hope that it doesn’t happen again in another 2 years. I guess I should have just bought one of the cheap, throw-away laptops instead of this very expensive...

    I just got off the phone with dell service and was told I can send my 1705 in to be repaired for a min of $199.00 to a max of $498.00, guaranties it would be fixed and that this would be guaranteed for 3 months. Soooo.. I guess this expensive laptop just got more expensive!! I don’t see any choice...
