  • Re: XPS 730x General Hardware Discussion thread

First of all, Phenom I really appreciate your detailed answers. Hmm...I didnt order Vista Ultimate lol because I thought my previous OEM would work. I have 2 OEM of vista, one is 32-bit from xps 420 and the other is 64-bit from 435MT. So what you are suggesting that neither would work with the 730x?...

  • Memory not being recognized in bios

I have a new Studio XPS 8000, supplied with Vista and upgraded to Windows 7. Both Vista and 7 (and CPU-Z) tell me correctly I have 8gb of DDR3 installed, though W7 says only 4gb is 'usable'. More importantly, the BIOS says I only have 4gb installed. Dell tech insist this is a software issue ...

  • Dell Studio XPS 8000 - 4GB Installed BIOS shows 2GB - 64 Bit Windows 7

I'm having this problem with my XPS where Windows 7 System information reports 4.00 GB installed but 1.99 GB usable. However, when I check in my BIOS system information it reports that I only have 2048MB/2GB installed and available. I am running on 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium upgraded from Windows...
