  • Re: Should I buy now?

Well, if learning Vista is the main issue, then I would recommend buying the PC. I don't think that waiting for SP2 is a good idea, since you are not buying the OS itself, but the computer with the OS. Vista has most of its previous issues solved already in SP1. Plus, SP2 will most likely be an update...

  • Customer Disservice

I would just like to comment on the "managers" of the four people that I spoke to today at customer service. I purchased a television from Dell and was led to believe that it was something more than it was. Upon contacting Dell of this issue I was told that they had a problem that they were...

  • Re: Dell Dimension 2400 Drivers w/ Windows 7

I have this installed and running and it is performing beyond my expectations on the dimension 2400. Now I have a PCI Geforce FX 5500 video card installed in it. It installed and ran very well. It did not find a driver for the on-board video chip set and I did not spend any time trying to find one so...

  • Re: Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 (Build 7000) on my Mini9 today. Works great so far, but there are some tricks to getting the OS on there without an Optical drive included. I blogged about it on my website: How to install the Windows 7 Beta on a Dell Mini9 Netbook Let me know how you guys make out on getting it...

  • Any love for Windows 7 Beta coming?

Just wondering if Dell is working on updating their driver support for Windows 7 Beta. Several of the drivers that I need will not install due to "unsupported OS". I have an XPS 420 that came pre-packaged with Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit; I recently installed a dual boot system to include...

  • Re: Windows 7?

I see a few of you are having trouble installing stuff like the chipset driver that detects you aren't on Vista before even trying to install. Here is a fix for that: Right click on the actual setup file that the .exe unzips to (the Rxxxxxx folder in C:\Dell\Drivers will have it) and then click on...

  • Restoring computer using that hidden partition... computer dual-boots (two partitions)

Say I have a computer that dual-boots Vista and Windows 7. Then later on, I decide that I want to completely restore the computer to the factory setting using the hidden Dell recovery partition. Would that remove the 7 partition? (I'm just making sure. I'm asking because a new PC is coming and...

  • Windows 7 drivers for dell 1110 printer

I'm currently running the Windows 7 x64 public beta build 7000 and want to install my dell 1110 printer. Since Microsoft has made an effort to make everything backwards compatable with Vista, I downloaded the x64 Vista drivers (since there are no Windows 7 drivers available under the drivers page...
