  • Customer Disservice

I would just like to comment on the "managers" of the four people that I spoke to today at customer service. I purchased a television from Dell and was led to believe that it was something more than it was. Upon contacting Dell of this issue I was told that they had a problem that they were...

  • Precision M4300 Bios problems with last two BIOS revisions A12 and A13

If you use the D/Dock with the Precision M4300 (and probably the M2300 and M6300 as well), quad monitor support is lost. No matter what I do, I cannot restore quad monitor displays using two vidoe cards (one PCI card in the D/Dock). The system will only detect one card. My guess is that the new BIOSes...

I'm currently running Windows 7 RC 32-Bit (Build 7100) and trying to get the new "XP Mode" to work on my Inspiron 1545 with no luck. The laptop has the Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Processor P8600 running at 2.40 GHz which has support for Virtualization which is required for "XP...

  • Unable to upgrade Vostro 220s BIOS

Hi, I installed Windows 7 on my brand new Vostro 220s and experienced some difficulties in the process. The installation hangs at the end and I found on the internet that disconnecting all USB devices will solve the problem. While solving the problem, the root cause is still not resolved. That's...

[quote user="micriley"] I'm running a D531 and attempting to use VirtualPC (under Vista) with HW virtualization enabled... Everything will install just fine and be good - until I attempt to boot a guest OS instance... Poof. Instantaneous reboot. No warning, just a POST screen and eventually...

  • Memory not being recognized in bios

I have a new Studio XPS 8000, supplied with Vista and upgraded to Windows 7. Both Vista and 7 (and CPU-Z) tell me correctly I have 8gb of DDR3 installed, though W7 says only 4gb is 'usable'. More importantly, the BIOS says I only have 4gb installed. Dell tech insist this is a software issue ...

  • Dell Studio XPS 8000 - 4GB Installed BIOS shows 2GB - 64 Bit Windows 7

I'm having this problem with my XPS where Windows 7 System information reports 4.00 GB installed but 1.99 GB usable. However, when I check in my BIOS system information it reports that I only have 2048MB/2GB installed and available. I am running on 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium upgraded from Windows...
