  • Mysterious Freezing

Hello! My E6400 (Standard-Config) really startet to hate me. I begin at the very start: The notebook was ordered in mid-august and arrived on early October. I replaced the HDD and the 1GB RAM I ordered with a greater HardDisc and 4GB, parted in 2x2GB modules, then I installed a Vista HomePremium 64bit...

  • Latitude E6400, Intel Wifi Link 5300 AGN Drops Connections

I just recieved my Latitude E6400 today. I like the laptop, but the Intel Wifi Link 5300 AGN adapter continually drops my wireless connections to my home Linksys WRT54G access point and router. This is a version 5 Linksys unit running in mixed b/g mode with WEP encryption. It is running with a unique...

  • e6400 - Mouse freezes for a second

I am having an issue on my e6400 where the mouse (USB, logitech wireless Revolution VX) will freeze for approx a second every 2 mins or so. I am running Vista 64-bit and have tried out 2 other mice (both wired). Initially I though it was load causing the entire system to freeze but its not. I can be...

  • Terrible whining E6400

Hi everyone, Since a few days ago I have a new Latitude E6400. The Notebook is really great but I have this extremly terrible CPU Whining! Thats really bad because I'm a student and the whining can be heard espacially when it is quiet. The Dell Support says that is normal and they do not change anything...

  • Re: Dell Latitude E6400 - Overheating issues with minute tasks such as playing flash videos for extended periods?

I got exactly the same problem here The computer don't work after some time viewing Video and its even worst with DVd playback (cant watch more than 20 minutes) The problem seems to be an overheating from the Graphical chipset (ie Intel for me not NVIDIA) The processor doesn't overheat (45-50°c...

  • Latitude E Series and E-Port Replicators

I have three E Series notebooks (E4300/E6400/E6500). All three exhibit the following behavior: When docked, everything runs fine. If I "hot" undock (all running 32-bit XP Pro) everything works fine. If I then "hot" dock, everything seems to come back fine, but the mouse starts pausing...

  • E-series, SATA, Blue Screen & iastore.sys

Hello. We build our images for deployment through the Altiris Deployment Server and I am back to the drawing board with the E6500, E6400 and E4300 machines we are using. I built the image from a disk I created using nLite because I needed the SATA drivers installed. Now, on all of these test machines...

  • Re: e6400 - Mouse freezes for a second

yes, I ran all of the latest updates and I believe the Intel SATA update is the one that actually fixed the mouse freezing issue. Ever since I have updated to the latest drivers (I think there were ~5 updates including the BIOS update) my E6400 has been really solid. Im happy again :) http://support...

  • Re: Latitude E6400 won't go to sleep

I had almost the same problem with the same model and none of the tips here helped. That is, my computer went into hibernation seemingly fine, but when going out of it only restarted. This is most likely due to the old version of SafeGuard Easy (a disc encryption program) that's installed on my PC...
