Studio XPS 16 Issues

Hi,

I placed an order on october 16th with an EDD of november 12th. My order got cancelled on thursday (nomvember 5th) without any notification. Yesterday I tried to have explanantion I was transferred twice a a voicemail and once to a not valid number! This morning I was able to get in touch with a guy from customer support after some searches he told me manufacturing cancelled my order because of compatibility issues between windows 7 and bluetooth... I don't have a bluetooth module in my laptop! What kind of service is that? No order were placed to replace the old one. The guy I talked to told me to contact him on monday to replace my order with a new EDD (he said around november 30th) nothing was offered to accomodate me (expedite order, next day shipping, etc.)

Dell really screwed up with that product, how can a company list a product as available since the end of september and I have yet to find someone with a Studio XPS 16 with a core I7. I had a very bad experience with Dell online sale support. Too bad it seems like they don't care about personnal use, because the company I work for always had excellent support from Dell...

Re: Studio XPS 16 Issues

I ran into same situation as well. :(

I order Dell XP 1645 with i7 at the end of october and My order got cancelled. :(

Luckily, i order my laptop via Sales Person from Dell. She re-ordered same laptop with Windows & Professional Edition on 2nd November.

And now I have no idea, when i will get my laptop. :(

I wish, actually now I have no order with Dell so that means no laptop. Have to contact the guy I contacted saturday at his office so he can replace the order... Apparently he couldn't do it when I was talking with him.

Re: Studio XPS 16 Issues

I have just got an information from Dell, that it would take 15 days max to get my Dell XPS Studio 1645. Aparently, there is something happening only with Dell XPS Studio laptops with Intel I7 Processors.

I am not sure, other laptops are delivered on time or not.

Dear Lisa Grimes

I have the very same problem as the author of the first post in this thread. If my laptop (XPS 16. Core I7 etc) finally arrives on estimated delivery date, i will have waited for 7 weeks. If you browse a little bit in this forum you will find many posts stating exact the same delivery-non existant communication-not helpfull customer care- Issue.

I appreciate a lot, that there actually are Dell Reps like you who want to help. Maybe, you could let us know what exactly is going on with XPS 16?

Re: Studio XPS 16 Issues

Hello,

I'd like to re-itterate this issue. I ordered my computer through dell.ca on Sept 30, 2009 and had an original expected delivery date of Nov 2, 2009. The order was cancelled by dell and re-instated on Nov 6, 2009 now with an expected delivery date of Dec 7, 2009 (yes over 9 weeks). I had phoned when my order was cancelled and they told me there were driver issues preventing them to send the computers and that later that day the order would be put back in. The order went back in as mentioned above however it changed my price from approximately $1780 to $2550, roughly a $800 increase. When looking over the parts they changed my order from a dvd drive to blu ray with no other changes, they even said it'd come with Win7 but it still states vista on it. I'm obviously not very impressed by this and phoned in today to simply cancel my order and get something else from somewhere else. After being redirected 3 times I ended at an asnwering machine where I phoned again and was redirected roughly 5 more times before ending up at the answering machine of the sales person who apparently as I was told is the only person who can fix my order. None to happy, I'd love just to cancel my order and get a machine elsewhere sooner rather than later.

Cheers,

-Kim Ng
