Inspiron 1545 CD/DVD not showing in Windows

Inspiron Laptop1545. Vistal Home Premium. Model bought last December.  HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GT10N Dvd/CD Drive. Not Showing in Windows. Shows Up on Bios and system Info. Disk Mangement does not show the Drive. Microsoft Mr fix It cannot solve the problem.  Have removed and reseated Drive. Drive Powers up and opens and closes. Does not read Disks.

 Been trough various searches, but obviously am missing something. Unless Drive is Knackered.

Can someone point me in the right direction.

All solved. Problem in the Registry, as with many others. No idea how it got corrupted. One Line. Gues I'll put it down to Vistas' Stability.
