Wireless Not Working on Dell XPS M1330 - new to forum

The wireless feature on my Dell XPS M1330 is behaving in an odd way. When I switch on the machine I am able to see by BT wireless strength and I am able to open up the internet page (e.g. MSN front page). When I navigate away from this page I lose the wireless connection and the internet page cannot be found. (I also note that the machine generally seems to take longer to open programs).

I have done the following checks:

- The internet works fine with the ethernet cable and hence I have discounted any application issue here.

- The broadband wireless from BT has been checked and this is not an issue (I have also tried this at a different location where the wireless is known to work)

- The Dell Wireless On/Off switch is switched on

- I have run Dell Diagnostic which reports no issues

- I have ensured Windows Vista has it's latest upgrades

I am not sure what else I can do. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and any suggestions of how to fix this?

Re: Wireless Not Working on Dell XPS M1330 - new to forum

I too started experiencing same thing yesterday. I did have my internet working fine for the last year or so. I have installed Win 7 few weeks ago - and everything was working fine. Today i could chat on skype with no problem - but could not open any web pages ( gmail, ebay, msn). after i turn wifi on and off - it opens one page ( after loading it forever)  and thats it. i tried resetting my router numerous times, but my desktop works perfect on wireless opening pages a lot faster than my dell. I have restarted it - and was able to get online. But dont know how long it will last. Have not had any problems with wireless until now.

PS i have tried the suggested from sticky ( hopefully it works)
