5424 web gui versus running-config versus startup-config

I have a 5424, and after some restarts and relocations, I'm finding a lot of the changes I make in the web gui are missing from the startup config.

Am I just missing something here? As an example, I set the default IP gateway in the web gui, and click the Apply Changes, it takes effect immediately.  If I then hit the CLI and compare the show running-config against the show startup-config, the default gateway setting is missing!

So I'm finding myself going to the cli and doing a "copy running-config startup-config" everytime I'm messing with the GUI, which seems silly...anyone else experiencing this?

Items configured via GUI do not automatically get saved.

To save via GUI.  System>File Management>Copy FIles

Guess I missed something obvious then. Thanks!  I'm used to Cisco gui's (when I use a gui) which have the icon to give you a spot to click to commit.
